'You're a Mad Man' - Ursula Owusu tells Murtala Mohammed after being accused as LGBTQ+ practitioner

Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the MP for Ablekuma West, and Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, a lawmaker for Tamale Central, got into an argument on the House floor of Parliament over offensive remarks allegedly made against Ursula Owusu-Ekuful during the debate on Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill (LGBT+).

At the second reading of the bill in Parliament on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, the House unanimously adopted the report on the bill championed by the MP for Asante Akim North, Andy Appiah-Kubi, the Second Deputy Speaker, Andrew Asiamah, gave time to members to contribute to the bill.

Ursula, who also serves as the Communications Minister, seemed to deviate from the broad condemnation of the act in her contribution to the LGBTQI law.

Ursula responded to NDC MP Murtala, who had allegedly been heard whispering in the background asking if she practices same-sex relationships.

In her response, Ursula Owusu referred to her fellow law maker Ursula as Being a Mad Man.
